Joanne Pollard, CEO of CO2Sense Yorkshire on green growth IT IS a brave business that decides this is the time to launch a new green product or service to the world.

But there are plenty of reasons to believe the time is right.

The market for low-carbon goods and services is worth Pounds 3 trillion and is likely to grow to Pounds 4.5 trillion by 2015. That's impressive growth. And this is a global market: China has shown its commitment to green technology by investing about 3 per cent of its GDP on green initiatives, such as renewable energy and energy-efficient lighting.

South Korea plans to spend $60 billion on green tech infrastructure over the next five years.

This all adds up to big opportunities for businesses with ideas for products that help to reduce carbon emissions.

There are many companies in East Yorkshire that have developed products with huge potential to reduce both costs and carbon emissions for other companies, many of whom have been helped by CO2Sense Yorkshire.

Some of the most successful products have been produced in tough economic times.

With countries across the globe hungry for products that will help them to reduce their emissions, now is the time to develop that idea.
